Gacha Yardsale Reopened

Despite the inventory loss, I have moved the gacha yardsale to its new location and it is now open for shopping.  I am still working with LL to recover the lost items, but I didn't want to keep this from you any longer.  Please feel free to drop by the new location, shop, hang out, or get comfortable in the lounge.

Gacha Yardsale News

Sorry for the late notice, but the gacha yardsale is currently closed and being moved. The new location will be separate from the ::A Master's Eye:: main store, but within the same sim.  The new location will be on it's own parcel, with it's own building, and everything is being broken down into better categories for ease of shopping.

It will reopen as soon as a lost inventory situation is handled by LL.  A significant amount of inventory was lost between Saturday and Sunday night, and I have been trying to get LL to assist with the recovery since it was discovered.  I want to be able to continue to offer everything I have promised everyone, so I thank everyone for their patience during this endeavor.

A new LM will be posted on the yardsale page when it is reopened and ready for shopping with more items available!

A glimpse of what's coming...

Why the delays?

I just wanted to share with you one of the reasons new posts are taking so long, besides school and real life.  Here are a couple of previews of what we will be offering at the upcoming Fantasy Gacha Carnival in November.  Please note that these are works in progress, but at least you know I have actually been doing other SL stuff with my Jarl hehe

I found a link to a thread on the SLUniverse forums where others users have been trying to keep track of mesh copybot theft.  You can find the thread here: http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/general-sl-discussion/63903-mesh-police-ripped-content-watch.html  I also decided to post a link to my previous post there, since many of the offenders deal in more than just ripped skins, but also ripped mesh, or mesh that has been uploaded against someone else's TOS.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry there haven't been any new outfits posted for a while, but I just finished the last quarter for my Associate Degree last week, so things got really busy, and I have been struggling to get some things straight with my school and the VA.  (For those that are unaware, I am a disabled veteran.)

I have also been trying to go back and slowly make the detail shots for all of the outfits I had already posted, because I really want to put a quality effort into showing off the magnificent creations of those I choose to blog.  I am really hoping that soon some creators may actually want to sponsor me to blog their items, but I need to make sure that I can show them that I am dedicated to showing just how great their items are.

On top of these things, and my other real life struggles (hence the fundraiser on the bottom right), I also have my duties to my Jarl in helping him run ::A Master's Eye::  I am basically the customer service representative, and do all of our blogging, wordsmithing, etc.  I help him with ideas, as well as try to keep him motivated as best I can to move on to new and exciting projects.  I would also like to try to get back into creating more myself, though I am no where near as talented as my Jarl.  I do have a couple of outfit ideas, and I am really hoping that I might be able to at least get one finished before I have to start school again in a week and a half.

If you do like the things I post on here, I would really love to hear it.  I would really enjoy getting comments or feedback from those of you that stumble upon this blog.  Knowing that people like what they see here would really be a boost for me, and to be honest, I could really use that kind of long distance support right now.

I promise to get back to trying to post outfits more regularly when I am able, and really hope that can be next week or soon thereafter.

Just a random share

I've been holding on to this one for a bit. I keep thinking about redesigning the outfit and setting. It's for a personal art project. Plus I was feeling sad when I looked at my RL fundraiser and thinking about my current needs. Anyway, just thought I would share this.

Battling Copybotters

I am sure all of you know the struggle that creators in Second Life go through regarding those nefarious users who use the Copybot program.  At one time it was a frequently talked about issue, but it seems that since Linden Labs tried to do their part to block the program, it has fallen by the wayside in general conversation.

I am here to tell you that copybotting is still as big a problem as it ever was, so we all need to remain vigilant. While it may seem great to get that skin made by your favorite designer for a fraction of the cost from someone else, please realize that you are hurting those that spend hours trying to make SL a more beautiful place.  It sickens me to see just how many copybotters are still popping up or continuing to operate on the Marketplace.

Unfortunately there aren't any really good methods for we the consumers to help our favorite designers stop this onslaught.  Flagging an item on the MP may seem like one method, but none of the categories or reasons listed through flagging really allow us as consumers to point out to LL that the product is a copybotter.  Besides that, just as soon as you think you've got one reported, another seller pops up with the same or similar item, and it all starts again.

So what can we do?  I have recently begun a personal quest to try to help one of my favorite merchants become aware of these copybot enemies by keeping a notecard with links to the offending MP listings.  Each time I add new links to the list, I forward the notecard on to her customer service rep.  And now to continue in my quest, I am going to start posting those links here.  Many of the owners of these MP links are people I see posting copybotted items from multiple legitimate businesses around SL, so don't think that they are only attacking one person.

My quest is to help stamp out those copybotting Pink Fuel skins.  As I told the creator, Mochi Milena, I support what I love, and I absolutely adore her skins.  My Jarl likes her skins so much that hers are what all of our household wears, even the models at our store.  As I find more offenders, which I wish I wouldn't, I will update this post so that all of you are aware of these bad apples.

Gacha Fever

For those that don't know, I have a small gacha resale outside the main store for my Jarl and I.  I love gacha machines, but I often get way more then I need or want, so I try to put those things back up for sale for what I paid for them, though I do mark up rares a bit.

I'm trying to update the Facebook and Blog for ::A Master's Eye:: when I add more items.  I also send out in world notices since there is a no group mailing list for the blog.

Updating previous posts =)

Well folks, since my format for the plain outfit shots seems to have been accepted thus far, I am going back and plan on slowing adding one of the new detail shots to each of the old posts.  It will take me a bit, but once those are done, I hope to get some new fun outfits put together to show all of you.  The new detail shots are also being added to Flickr.

In other exciting news, well, at least for me, I have been syndicated on the SL Fantasy Feed Blog; yay!  Thank you Pew, you are so great =)

Blog Picture Formatting

Hi folks!

While I enjoy showing you all my creative side with the pictures I post here on the blog and on my Flickr, I guess they may not be the best way to show off the work of the creators I am highlighting.  To that end, I may be trying some new blog picture techniques to see what works best.  I will still try to stick to showing you creative adaptations and environments, but I will also try posting at least one picture with a plain background so you can get a better look at the components of each outfit.  I may go back and do test shots with the outfits already on the blog.

I would love your opinions on this, and when I post the new format shots, so please don't be afraid to leave comments =)  Finals week permitting, I should have something up in the next few days if I'm able.

Natural materials always seem to catch my eye, and definitely anything animal related, like this mask.  I'm always looking for excuses to go frolic in the forest, and the Fantasy Room definitely had plenty of reasons for me to do so this round.
