Part of my very lengthy back story involves my time spent as a wood elf ranger.  The use of a bow, nature, and my personal connection with animals has always been a huge part of who I am.  I'm also more of a fan of leather armor, you know, stuff I can move around in.

I am a Star Wars geek.  One of my favorite races has always been the twi'lek, and though I always think back to the twi'lek dancer I played in Star Wars Galaxies beta, I wanted to show off that these beautiful people are more than just slaves.

I love to people watch!  I find it's a great way in SL to discover some really unique looks and awesome items.  I had seen this headdress on someone and was dying to have it.  After tracking it down, I of course had to come up with something to match it.  I'm always more of a darkness oriented type of girl instead of sunshine and rainbows, so my nature lover took a bit of a turn from the usual hippy druid style *grins*

Kaiila Rider

Inspiration

In real life I have always been fascinated and intrigued by Native Americans, proud of my supposed Cherokee roots.  I also have a great love of horses.  So when I first learned about the Wagon People so many years ago, I was instantly drawn toward them.  The same when I learned of the Red Savages.  While looking at some outfits on the SL Marketplace, I really wanted to make a tharlarion rider, but then gravitated toward a kaiila rider giving me a chance to play with my native love.

Introduction

Hi Folks!

I'm Kat/Katanya/kitten/Katanya Shannara/Katanya Mistral/that one girl.  I've been in Second Life since 2005.  I used to love taking pictures in world and trying to edit them.  Recently I have been doing a lot of perusing on Flickr and various blogs, which inspired me to try and update my look.  I have had a bad habit of staying with the same avatar elements for long periods of time and wearing only the items that came with a particular outfit.  I saw how great others were at mixing things up, and decided it was time I started to do the same.

I have decided to start putting different themes together for fun or to match my current emotions.  I also like finding new places to take pictures to fit the theme of the outfits I have put together.  Since I have been doing this so often, my Jarl, Dylan Eun, kept asking me why I didn't start a blog to show things off to everyone.  I resisted for a long time because I don't want to add any more work to my already full RL/SL plate, but I finally decided to give in.

I'm not really expecting to get any sponsors like other bloggers do because I realize I'm not the greatest at making pictures, but I enjoy doing this, so we'll see where it goes.
